The project will focus on the following components: (i) At the policy level, IFC partners with the Research Institute of Finance and Banking of the People's Bank of China and jointly promote financial inclusion through the research studies on rural finance and microfinance, including the recommendation on regulatory framework of microfinance. (ii) To support broader microfinance sector development, IFC will work with relevant industry associations, to design training programs to facilitate more knowledge transfer of microfinance best practices to the market players. (iii) At the institutional level, the project will identify several potential institutions for more in-depth advisory support, which may cover the areas of product design, risk control, staff capacity building and responsible finance.
