China's Pacific Missile Launch

completed

China conducted a rare missile launch over the Pacific, signaling its growing confidence in its sea-based nuclear forces and broader military ambitions. The missile reportedly landed near the Solomon Islands after traveling thousands of kilometers, marking only the third time China has conducted such a long-range missile test across the Pacific. This launch demonstrates Beijing's determination to strengthen the sea-based leg of its nuclear forces, which has historically lagged behind its land- and air-based capabilities.
