Description

Description

The FC project Urban Water and Sanitation Supply Chipata is the fourth phase of the series project Improvement of Urban Water and Sanitation Supply in the Eastern Province of Zambia. Phase IV includes the rehabilitation/restructuring and expansion of the urban drinking water network in Chipata. The aim of the FC program is to contribute to ensuring the drinking water supply for the population living in Chipata, taking into account the reduced water availability caused by climate change. The measure contributes to the DC program objective by sustainably improving the population's access to clean drinking water and making an important contribution to protecting scarce water resources. The target group of the project is the population of Chipata, who will benefit from an improved drinking water supply after the measure has been implemented. The main target group is the poor population, as the project will connect the areas with predominantly poor populations to the supply and this will contribute to reducing water-induced health risks. An accompanying measure will strengthen the technical and commercial capacities of the project sponsor, Eastern Water and Sanitation Company.
