Description | Design and planning for upgrades to the water treatment plant and distribution system to support federal regulatory requirements, capacity demand for growth and development and benefit of elevated storage. Develop an inventory of key assets and compare their condition and age to typical life expectancy values and prepare a schedule for repair and replacement including probable costs based on a 10 year plan. Examine existing water treatment plant capacity against demand giving consideration to growth and demand, development, disinfection considerations and the benefit of an elevated storage. Examine options to improve the water intake with goal of improving water quality and reducing operational issues. Off reserve benefits - The Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation water support system is generated by Lake Huron part of the Great Lakes, the plan will provide short and long term solutions that attribute to protection of the Great Lakes water ways and environment. Safer long term water operations will reduce the burden on the provincial health care system. |
