Chips to Start-up (C2S) Programme MPW Fabrication Runs

The Government of India is democratizing chip design among Indian universities by providing access to industry-grade Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and Multi-project Wafer (MPW) fabrication services through the Chips to Start-up (C2S) Programme. The ChipIN Centre at C-DAC Bangalore supports the design and fabrication process by collecting chip designs from students, conducting fab-compliance checks, and coordinating fabrication at Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL) Mohali using 180 nm technology. Over the past year, 5 MPW shuttle runs have been organized, resulting in 122 design tapeouts from 46 institutions, with 56 student-designed chips successfully fabricated and delivered.
