The proposed investment is a sub-national finance project to assist the City’s to finance the rehabilitation/extension of its water/wastewater and rehabilitation of selected City streets in order to improve environmental performance and enhance the local infrastructure. The investments will primarily focus on the following: Rehabilitation/extension of existing water network totaling about 30km and wastewater network in the disadvantageous areas of the City totaling about 27km; Rehabilitation of some City’s street, currently in bad condition, which were selectively identified by the City totaling about 10km; Expect project benefits are: reduced water pollution and water leakage, improved control of water consumption, water quality and enhanced public health in the communities it serves; increased capacity of high quality streets in the City’s center.
