The Chongqing Banan Senior Vocational School is a higher secondary vocational school that specializes in the training of specialists in automotive technology, textile production, preschool education and construction, among other things. The school's existing buildings are to be replaced in favor of a new building in a new development zone in Chongqing. The new building is intended to increase capacity from 3,800 to 5,000 students and improve the quality of the training programs through modern facilities and teaching materials. 70% of the loan is to finance practice-oriented vocational school equipment, especially in the automotive sector, as well as additional IT and teaching materials for the new campus. 30% will finance the construction of a teaching building and two training buildings. The total investment volume is EUR 46.2 million, of which EUR 24.5 million is to be financed with an FZ development loan. The Banan district, with 960,000 inhabitants, is located in the south of the 30 million metropolis of Chongqing and thus in the heart of the industrial and economic belt that stretches around the city center of Chongqing. The constantly growing industrial city of Chongqing has a high demand for qualified specialists, especially in the areas of automotive technology and IT. With the construction of the education park, which will also house the new campus of the Chongqing Banan Senior Vocational School, the district is further expanding the service sector and is thus aiming to play a leading role in higher technical education in Chongqing. One of the declared goals is to improve training in line with international standards. The targeted promotion of vocational training improves young people's entry opportunities and development opportunities on the job market. The district government's approach to promoting the quality of secondary vocational education increases the chances of underqualified students in particular. Modern training methods and a high proportion of practical training are used to promote the skills of this group in particular. During the three years of vocational training in the secondary system, students in Chongqing do not have to pay school fees. This gives children from financially weak families in particular the chance of a good career in a skilled profession. The project will enable additional students to be trained. In addition to increasing capacity, the quality of education will also be improved. The students' practical experience will be strengthened and their qualifications will qualify them for everyday work in their future profession. The FZ project supports this by procuring basic technical equipment for classrooms and training rooms in accordance with modern corporate standards.
