Description | In February 2009, Chongqing Sino-French Water Affairs Investment Co., Ltd. a 50:50 joint venture of Sino French Water Development Co. Ltd. (a 50:50 joint venture of New World Group and SUEZ Environment) and the state owned Chongqing Water Affairs Group was granted an agreement to build and operate Yuelai Water Plant for 30 years in Chongqing Municipality. In addition to the construction and operation of a drinking water treatment plant with a capacity of 600,000 m3 per day, the contract included the management of water distribution services for Yuelai, which was expected to eventually serve 1.2 million people.The project was procured via direct negotiation. The total investment was RMB 1500 million (US$ 214.59 million). |
