The Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications is one of the few state-supported postal and telecommunications universities in China. It is one of the most important teaching and research institutes in the field of information and telecommunications technology in southwest China and, due to numerous national and international collaborations with other educational institutions and leading companies, occupies a special structural position in the region. It also offers adult education programs. The university wants to meet the growing demand for well-trained technical specialists by offering a more practice-oriented course of study. The project primarily involves the procurement of teaching and learning materials for buildings on campus (including those under construction). This should increase the practical training component of students by 20% over the next five years. The number of students will increase by 600 people to a total of 24,800. Modernization and renovation measures for buildings and streets on the university grounds will also be made possible. The teaching and learning materials are fully financed from the FZ funding loan of EUR 20.0 million. The remaining funds are used to co-finance the structural renovation measures.
