The Thermal Power Project for Japan will meet the increased power demand by supporting three Electric Power Companies: The Kansai, The Kyushu, and The Chubu. This project will examine the technical, economic and financial aspects of the projects, as well as the financial positions of the three private companies. Currently, the Kansai project experiences power shortage, therefore, this project will consist of a complete 150,000 kw steam power plant with two generating units of 75,000 kw each designed to operate at high temperatures and pressures. The Kyushu project provides service to the entire island of Kyushu and neighboring small islands. The Kyushu project will consist of a complete 75,000 kw steam power plant with a generating unit identical in design with those of the Kansai project. The Chubu deals with heavy industrial usage, this project will consist of a complete 66,000 kw steam power plant with one generating unit. In Japan, electric power production has shown a more substantial increase than industrial production. Despite this sharp rise in production the full demand for power has not been met. The outcome of these projects will help meet the estimated maximum demand of power being used by consumers in Japan.
