Description
Description | The development objectives of the Third Poverty Reduction Support Credit (PRSC-3) Project for Cote d’Ivoire are to strengthen governance, improve public administration, and facilitate private-sector-led growth. The three pillars of the operation are: (i) promoting good governance, transparency, and enhanced public financial management; (ii) improving the business climate and revising the legal framework for private enterprise; and (iii) strengthening economic sectors with high growth potential. The PRSC-3 remains fully consistent with the World Bank Group’s twin goals of ending extreme poverty by 2030 and promoting shared prosperity by increasing the income of the poorest 40 percent of the population. It also takes into consideration the lessons learned from previous operations as well as the conclusions of the systematic country diagnostic (SCD) endorsed by the World Bank Group on April 21, 2015, which serves as the analytical foundation for the joint International Finance Corporation (IFC), International Development Association (IDA), and Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) country partnership framework (CPF) for Cote d’Ivoire for FY16-19, which is scheduled for Board discussion on September 29, 2015. |
