Description | The CI4C (Cement Innovation for Climate) Pure Oxyfuel plant in Mergelstetten is a semi-industrial-scale demonstration facility for carbon capture technologies in cement production. It features a dedicated kiln line with a capacity of around 450 tpd of clinker and uses the Pure Oxyfuel process to capture nearly 95% of CO2 emissions from cement production, including process emissions from limestone calcination. The plant was developed under the lead of thyssenkrupp Polysius and thyssenkrupp Calvion in collaboration with the CI4C consortium and other partners. |
