It is set to become New York's largest solar farm, powering over 120,000 homes once operational. The project spans roughly 3,000 acres across non-contiguous sites in the towns of Elba and East Oakfield, Genesee County, New York. Construction began in November 2024, with full commercial operation expected by late 2026. The project will contribute approximately $100 million in tax revenue to the local community over its lifetime, supporting local services such as first responders, road infrastructure, libraries, and schools. The Meyer Substation will be overhauled to help transmit energy from the solar plant. |
