Cider Solar Farm

Cider Solar is a 500-MW photovoltaic solar farm spread across 2,500 acres on about 60 parcels of private land north of the Elba and Oakfield villages in Genesee County, New York. The project utilizes ground-mounted PV panels on galvanized steel tracker racking structures. Construction includes civil and mechanical activities such as placement of steel piling and racking for solar modules, electrical wiring, and installation of high-voltage utility interconnection infrastructure. The project is expected to supply about 1 million MWh of renewable electricity per year, powering approximately 120,000 New York households. It will also incorporate agrivoltaics practices by hosting rotational sheep grazing on more than 300 acres of the project footprint.
