"The Cimarron Wind Farm project is being developed in the Tecate municipality of Baja California, Mexico. This wind farm forms part of the Energia Sierra Juarez (ESJ) wind complex and is directly linked to the California grid operator, CAISO. With a planned generation capacity of 320 MW, the project is sponsored by Spanish infrastructure developer and operator Elecnor SA, while Sempra Infrastructure will oversee construction. The Cimarron Wind Farm will feature 64 Vestas wind turbines and utilize Sempra Infrastructure's cross-border high-voltage transmission line, which connects the ESJ complex to CAISO. On the U.S. side, Silicon Valley Power, a municipal electric utility, will purchase the wind farm's output under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
