Objectives: Cinekid Festival is an international film festival for children in Amsterdam and throughout the Netherlands, every October. As a long running children’s film festival, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary during this period, Cinekid Festival is the quality label for children media productions in the Netherlands. Every October we present a wide-ranging and diverse film programme that shows relatable stories, narratives, and settings that acknowledge children on an individual level, making them feel heard and supporting them in their growth. For our 39th edition in 2025 and our 40th edition in 2024, we hope to further develop our programme, by focusing on experiencing films together, keep increasing the geographic and thematic diversity of our selection, keep improving our visibility throughout the country, maintain our role as leading festival that gives new films, talent and innovative initiatives a chance, move more towards a sustainable festival and industry and the optimisation our digital products. Activities: Organizing two international film festival aimed toward young audience between 3 and 14 years old. Various activities where the audience can interact with films and talent, such as during questions and answers talks after film screenings, masterclasses and interactive workshops with actors, directors, and specialists, interactive quizzes and meet & greet-sessions and performances on our outside stage. Type and numbers of person benefiting from the project: Children, parents and caretakers and professionals. Approximately 70.000 in 2025 and 2026. Expected results: Maintaining our number of European non-national works in the programming above 121 works in 2025 and 2026. Type and number of outputs to be produced: Two film festivals, one in 2025, one in 2026
