Cinemundo operates in the movie distribution business in Portugal and Portuguese speaking countries in Africa across all windows (theatrical, homevideo, digital, TV). The company is fully owned and managed by senior executives with a solid track record in this sector. The project will also contribute to Cinemundo’s competitiveness in the distribution of European films market in the territory, while consolidating its role as one of the most relevant players in this market in Portugal. The project shall be implemented by means of reinvestment on acquisition of distribution rights in films from non-national European countries, i.e., through the payment of minimum guarantees, and also on the promotion, marketing and advertising in Portugal of such films. In general, the Portuguese public and the European audiovisual sector will benefit from the project as it will enable a higher number of creative and artistic European works reach the audience, improving media literacy, while developing the European audiovisual sector. The implementation of the project will also allow the beneficiary to specially focus on the marketing and promotion of the European films it distributes having more resources available to invest on these actions. It shall also contribute to allow the Beneficiary to employ targeted and creative marketing strategies, emphasizing the unique cultural aspects of European films, leveraging social media, helping to build a dedicated audience.
