Exhibidora Mexicana Cinépolis, S.A de C.V (https://cinepolis.com/) (the “Company” or “Cinépolis”) is a leading global movie theatre operator headquartered in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico. It is the largest cinema chain in Latin America and ranks first globally in terms of annual attendance, with over 6,800 screens and approximately 264 million admissions per year. The Company operates in 19 countries, including, but not limited to, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico, India, and Indonesia, and maintains a strong market position through innovation, digital transformation, and strategic expansion. The proposed IFC investment (the “Project”) involves an unsecured senior A/B loan package of up to USD 300 million to support Cinépolis’ expansion and modernization efforts globally. This includes upgrades to existing facilities, digitalization initiatives, and the development of new cinemas across a number of countries where the Company operates. Capex expenditure for new developments and upgrades are defined by the Company on a yearly basis. The investment will also support energy efficiency programs and content production initiatives such as Que Cine in Chile.
