Description	The CIRCLE project is a four-year initiative funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking under the EU's Horizon Europe programme. It aims to demonstrate a first-of-its-kind industrial biorefinery that converts organic food waste into high-value bio-based chemicals, including polylactic acid (PLA). Emirates Biotech will manage the polymerisation of lactic acid derived from food waste to produce high-purity PLA for various applications, moving towards industrial-scale production with a planned 80ktpa PLA plant commissioning in 2028.
