Description

Description

Project consists of the replacement of an existing 3”cast iron waterline with a 6” DI waterline to improve upon the water quality and fire flow issues, replacement of the existing storm sewer system that is in poor condition along with the repair of the existing sanitary sewer system using the cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) method in the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor. The scope of the project includes the replacement of all subgrade, sidewalk and curb along with the asphalt surface within the affected areas in addition to all of the work detailed in the previous sentence. The project aims to remove the water quality and fire flow issues that have plagued this area of Town for a number of years as this 3” waterline is approximately 90 years old and has experienced a number of breaks in the last 10 years. The project also aims to repair the existing sanitary sewer system as the clay pipe in this area is also around 90 years old and has experienced issues over the last 10 years but installing a new sanitary sewer system and relocating the infrastructure to the roadway is too costly. The project will also replace all of the existing CIP storm sewer in this area that has surpassed its useful life and is no longer structurally sound.
