Description

Description

circusnext’s mission is to identify and support the most singular and creative emerging creators in the field of contemporary circus. Designed as a European springboard and showcase program, circusnext platform will address the sector’s issues by offering a strong visibility and circulation of the artists and their artworks in order to reach audiences of various cultural backgrounds. To create a quality showcase and springboard and to contribute to the European Green Deal, the platform’s activities aim at enhancing professional integration for emerging artists in a fairer environment by improving their global work environment (work conditions, socio-economic context, capacity building, ecological awareness, diversity awareness, digitization), as well as the recognition of contemporary circus which is key for sustainability. A selection process will take place every year enabling at least 50 new emerging artists to benefit from artistic labs, including awareness raising dialogues, and shortlisted artists to show their works and encounter audiences. Every year, over 50 performances will be showcased across Europe and over 400 documenting digital contents (videos, interviews, photos, social media campaigns) will be produced and disseminated. On-going communication and proximity branding activities will ensure a strong visibility of the platform and its EU support across audiences. Our consortium will comprise up to 28 Platform Members in over a dozen countries. Altogether, our activities will target diverse audiences (existing and new) across Europe, with the aim to reach each year an overall audience of 10,000 persons including general public, over 200 performing arts and cultural professionals, artists, policy and decisions makers, institutions.
