Description

Description

Eurocities is dedicated to empowering cities as key drivers of social inclusion and poverty reduction across Europe. Through InclusiveCities4All 2026-2029, we will support over 170 cities in implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR) and related EU strategies by enhancing their capacities, fostering peer learning, and leveraging data-driven insights to drive policy innovation and contribute to the European Semester. By facilitating training, peer exchanges, and political engagement, we enable cities to develop effective policies on critical social issues such as urban poverty, social exclusion, inclusive labour markets and skills gaps, the demographic transition, early childhood education and care (ECEC), social and affordable housing, access to essential services, and equal opportunities. Particular attention will additionally be put on mainstreaming the inclusion of people with disabilities and a gendered perspective into our work, while encouraging cities to adopt a social lens in all relevant urban policies. Our work also strengthens cities’ roles in implementing EU initiatives, including the Union of Skills, the European Care Strategy, the European Child Guarantee and the Lisbon Declaration and contributing to the upcoming anti-poverty strategy and EPSR action plan. Furthermore, we raise awareness of cities’ contributions to EU social policies, ensuring they are recognised as key partners in shaping a more inclusive and resilient Europe.
