Description

Description

This project arises from concerns about key aspects for Biosphere Reserves, as outlined in the European Green Deal and the Conference on the Future of Europe. This initiative aims to strengthen the sustainable environmental management topics of both Biosphere Reserves, by sharing best practices. We are dedicated to enhance the perception of local communities on biodiversity and the cultural landscape. These interconnected efforts are the core of our mission. We focus on promotion of the conservation of material and intangible historical-cultural heritage within the Biosphere Reserves and the importance of preserving it. We also intend to contribute to the improvement of the socioeconomic well-being of local communities by promoting ecological agriculture and fostering common practices for a sustainable ecotourism. Given the pressing concern of climate change, we will develop adaptation strategies, which will address climate change and enhance the resilience of ecosystems and communities with a strong strategy to combat climate change. Last but not least, our project prioritizes the promotion of gender equality and non-discrimination in all project activities, in decision-making processes, activity development, and access to the project's benefits. To achieve these goals, we have planned some activities, which will establish the Biosphere Reserves brand and their brand products, sharing information on the ecotourism opportunities and ecological agricultural practices and focus on participation related to conservation aspects of natural systems and EU Natura 2000 sites. Additionally, our project emphasizes the exchange of best practices among public authorities, citizens, and organizations. We believe this exchange, based on the values of the EU of solidarity, mutual understanding, and democracy, will lead to positive outcomes.
