"FUTURENTITY is a fusion of the words ""Future"" and ""Entity,"" symbolizing the project’s core vision of shaping the future of European identity, belonging, and civic participation in the digital age. It captures the idea that the European Union is not a static institution but a living, evolving entity. FUTURENTITY generated this spirit where all ages citizens reflect on digital identity, negotiate democratic participation in an AI-driven society for inclusive governance. FUTURENTITY's goal during these 24 months is to strengthen a human-centered, rights-based, and participatory digital citizenship across Europe, ensuring that the voices and visions of diverse citizens become integral to the future evolution of the European Union. FUTURENTITY seeks to tackle three interrelated gaps that challenge the future of European integration: the lack of citizen understanding about the impact of EU digital policies on daily life, the limited spaces for participatory negotiation on digital democracy and rights, and the fragmented inclusive governance. These gaps will be addressed through the project’s three pillars: Pillar 1 (Digital Identity & Belonging), which through WP2, WP5, and WP8, educates and empowers citizens to understand their evolving digital identity; Pillar 2 (Democratic Participation in the Digital Age), which through WP3, WP6 & WP9, creates spaces for structured citizen debate and policy negotiation; and Pillar 3 (Policy & Governance for Inclusive Digital Citizenship), which through WP4, WP7, and WP10, consolidates citizen experiences into recommendations for future EU policies. FUTURENTITY is expected to reach 772 gender balanced participants, including those from marginalized backgrounds, ensuring at least 50% of participants will be women and other underrepresented gender identities, in accordance to the EIGE resolution & respecting the necessity of incorporating a gender perspective in the preparation, implementation & evaluation phase of the project.
