City Energy-Efficient Oilseed Crushing Project

The project will finance the purchase and installation of a new, energy efficient, multi-seed crushing plant to produce edible oil and oilseed cake. The new plant will replace two of City group's existing, single-seed crushing, inefficient and hence higher energy- consuming oilseed crushing plants. The project will also support processing of different types of oilseeds, improving the climate resilience of the business by reducing impacts in the event of crop failure to one or more oilseed crops in a season. This will in-turn contribute to food security in Bangladesh. The project is fully aligned with the Government of Bangladesh's goals of pursuing efficient energy and infrastructure and strengthening agro-processing and supporting manufacturing of processed food.
