City of Fernie Skatepark Redevelopment Project

The project will increase access to recreation by constructing an integrated, modern, site-built concrete skateboard/all-wheel park in the City of Fernie. The new park will replace and improve on its current outdated and deteriorating skate park. The facility will include additional amenities like accessible, safe and inviting viewing areas, pathway connections, landscaping, as well as incorporate urban skiing components to encourage year-round usage. The project works will include: - demolition/recycling of existing skate park; - grading and drainage; - concrete / shotcrete skatepark elements; - urban skiing components; - skate park landscaping and support amenities; - shade / shelters; - fixed benches, picnic tables and waste receptacles; - pathway connections; - crosswalk upgrade and corner entrance and gathering space; and, - all related works.
