Description

Description

The City of Kingston’s project is separated in 2 sub-projects; a sanitary sewer and storm sewer separation project, and a shoreline project to protect from erosion. The sewer project involves separating the combined sanitary and storm sewers in the city’s historic downtown core to help protect residents from the effects of significant rain storms. This will help offset the effects of climate change and reduce the risk of urban flooding for people living and working in the Kingston. The erosion protection project will help protect the Lake Ontario/Cataraqui shoreline, which is an area of critical importance to the City. This project will improve and protect critical infrastructure and the community’s quality of life along the waterfront.
