City of Moncton - Blue Green Algae Abatement in the Potable Water System

completed

This project consists of replacing the current clarification system with a Dissolved Air Flotation (a water treatment process that clarifies wastewater by removing suspended solids) at an estimated cost of $6 Million. The project addresses a water quantity issue as an algal bloom in the lower reservoir would quickly reduce flow capacity through the treatment plant, subsequently reducing the availability of water for residents, business, and fire protection services throughout the tri-community.
