City of Osh water utility joint venture

In 2003, the local government of Osh city in Kyrgyz Republic signed a 30 year joint venture agreement with Aquamundo, a subsidiary of Amiantit Group, for the provision of water supply and wastewater disposal. The contract became operational in May 2003. At the time of signing the contract the city had a population of 300,000 with 110,000 water connections and 80,000 sewerage ones. The actual water projection was estimated at 128 cubic meters and unaccounted water was estimated between 20% to 50%.
