Description

The proposed project will build a multi-use pathway to connect several neighbourhoods in the City of Powell River and provide increased access to the community recreation centre and secondary school. The project will close the gap in the City’s network of pathways with a safe, direct, and accessible connection that will reduce local vehicle-related greenhouse gas emissions by increasing access to active transportation. The project works will include: - approximately 0.7 km of upgraded 3-m wide fine-crush surface multi-use pathway on existing sewer pipe utility road; - approximately 0.8 km of new 3-m wide fine-crush surface multi-use pathway; - approximately 1.5 km of lighting conduit for future LED lighting installation; - concrete pad forestry road crossing; and - site work, access roads/paths, mechanical, electrical, control/monitoring, signage, and other related works and appurtenances.
