The City of Prince Albert proposes to construct a new Aquatic and Arenas Recreation Centre. The scope of work for the Project includes two 68,000 square foot hockey rinks, which include ice surface, dressing rooms, spectator areas, storage, concessions, washrooms and foyer space for each proposed arena; and a 47,000 square foot aquatic centre. The new facility will replace the Dave Steuart Arena and the Kinsmean Arena, both of which have reached the end of their useful life. Each arena will have a seating capacity of approximately 800 seats. The new facility will incorporate a number of energy efficient designs that have been shown to significantly reduce recreation facility energy consumption. These include, but are not limited to, subfloor heating using heat recovery, domestic hot water and surface water heating, energy efficient lighting systems and efficient refrigerant equipment.
