The City of Saskatoon - Bus Rapid Transit - Fleet project will acquire new diesel buses to replace vehicles from Saskatoon’s fleet that are at or beyond their asset lifespan. Through the detailed design process, a review was completed to determine the best combination for Saskatoon’s fleet. These buses will all be of low floor design, fully accessible, accommodate an increased number of mobility devices, driver barriers, and smart fare collection. The diesel buses will be equipped with the cleanest diesel engines available at the time. The diesel buses are estimated to have a useful life of 15 years.
