Description

Description

The scope of work for the Project includes increasing the depth of the existing primary and secondary lagoon cells by removing sludge from the primary cells and raising the dyke walls, installing an aeration system in the primary and secondary cells, constructing a blower building for the aeration system, constructing an approximately 7,000 meter discharge pipeline to the South Saskatchewan River and all associated works. The proposed Project will increase wastewater treatment capacity and improve overall effluent discharge quality in the City of Warman, to comply with provincial and federal regulations. The City is currently discharging effluent into the South Saskatchewan River and the spring discharge is not meeting the provincial acute toxicity regulations. The City of Warman has a rapidly growing population. Based on an approximately 8% population growth, the City anticipates having to accommodate 11,000 cubic meters/day of wastewater within the next 20 years.
