Description | City Utilities (CU) is advancing to the next phases of its service line identification project, required under the EPA’s Revised Lead and Copper Rule. The project involves identifying and documenting all privately owned water service line materials in homes built before January 1, 1989, to detect any lead or galvanized service lines that could release lead into the water. Since launching in November 2024, over 52,000 customer-owned water service lines have been identified, with about 38,000 remaining unknown. CU is requesting customers to complete an online self-inspection or allow CU personnel to inspect service line entry points in their homes. |
