Description | In December 1993 the municipal government of Obregon, Mexico, awarded a build, own and operate contract for a wastewater treatment plant to private firm Solaqua SA de CV. The plant was designed to treat 36 million gallons of wastewater per day (1.5 cubic meters per second). The city of Obregon was located in the state of Sonora and had a population of 250,000. Solaqua was a special purpose company owned by US firm TCS Enterprises Inc. (TCS, 45 percent) and private Mexican investors. The project was expected to require an initial investment of 97 million pesos ($8.8 million). Financing was provided by FINFRA (32 percent), the Mexican government (27 percent) and Solaqua (41 percent). Construction on the plant was completed in 1995. http://www.oomapasc.gob.mx/ None |
