Description | The Clarnew storm water management Pond is a rehabilitation and sediment cleanout project including removal of approximately 1,100 m3 of sediment. The project was identified in the SWMFMG report as a priority; the estimated year of sediment removal is 2019. The storm water management pond is located in Newcastle, Ontario draining to Graham Creek; a watercourse that ultimately drains to the Port Newcastle Marsh which is a significant coastal wetland. The estimated cost for cleanout of the project exceeds the annual funding amount and would not proceed in 2017/2018 without special funding from the CWWF. The removal works are capitalized as they extend the life of the asset. |
