The Clear Creek Wood Bank is a charitable project started in 2022 by the Oversized Heart Foundation, Inc. in Buffalo, Wyoming. Its mission is to ensure no one ever has to choose between eating and heating by distributing free cut and split firewood to families in northern Wyoming. The project leverages local sustainable resources and community volunteers to provide heating assistance to those in need, including retired people, disabled individuals, veterans, unemployed, and working families. It distributed 128 cords of firewood to 892 families last winter and expects to distribute about 200 cords this year, with hopes to expand to other Wyoming communities.
