Clinton Nuclear Power Plant Expansion

planned

Constellation Energy is evaluating regulatory pathways to deploy advanced nuclear reactors or small modular reactors at the Clinton Clean Energy Center in Illinois. The project includes extending the existing Early Site Permit or pursuing a new construction permit from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to enable the deployment of new nuclear capacity. The expansion is supported by a 20-year power purchase agreement with Meta, which guarantees offtake of the plant's electricity starting in June 2027, including a 30-MW uprate expected to be complete in 2029.
