Description

Description

The European Green Deal is a package of measures proposed by the European Commission to make the EU's economy sustainable, by making Europe climate-neutral by 2050 and protecting biodiversity. The Circular Economy is one of the key components of the Green Deal, which aims to minimize waste and pollution while promoting sustainable economic growth. The EC has implemented several policies and initiatives to support the transition to a circular economy. But a question remains: facing a lack of knowledge about these policies and their challenges: how to concretely implement them at a local level (regions and cities)? The CLOLOCALL (CLOsing LOops locally) Chair will deliver a training program to disseminate knowledge and keys to understand and implement these policies, by highlighting the role of the EU in the deployment of circular economy. It also aims to create link between the researchers involved in the Chair and policy makers and citizens. Finally, CLOLOCALL will carry out research and studies on the obstacles and levers to the deployment of the circular economy in European cities and regions and to identify good practices to disseminate them in Europe. Each year, the chair will provide: - 190h of teachings, introducing students to the key aspects of the circular economy, linked to the Green Deal, and how to implement them locally (regions and cities); - Dedicated actions for stakeholders (public actors, citizens, companies etc.): seminars, video capsules to present local projects, café-debates in repair cafés, round tables with experts and citizens; - Research activities: European conference, scientific articles, Handbook; - Communication and dissemination activities. Pr Sébastien BOURDIN, expert in European studies with a recognised specialisation in circular economy and European public policy issues, directs the Chair, in collaboration with a team of researchers, assistants, PhD students and post-doctoral researchers, and additional administrative support.
