Description | Over the last few years, Europe has been confronted with a series of geopolitical, social and economic challenges, which have made it essential to industrialise and decarbonise the economy at the same time. Within this context, the U!REKA European University alliance comprising higher education institutions (HEIs) based in large economic and industrial centres aims at educating highly-qualified management professionals, who can drive forward the the twin transition to Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities through the use of strategic clean technologies (cleantech). In U!REKA CoMaCT, Metropolia UAS will co-design with other six participating HEIs, as well as with students and different organisations from public and private sector, a highly integrated master’s degree programme in the fields of Economics, Management, and Business Administration, under the theme “Commercialization and Management of Clean Technologies” (CoMaCT). The specific objectives of U!REKA CoMaCT are: (1) to co-design a 2-year master’s degree programme, with content and duration of 120 ECTS, and at least 3 HEIs providing education equivalent to level 7 of the international standard classification ISCED 2011; (2) to strengthen the internationalisation, attractiveness and outreach of the HEIs within U!REKA towards talented students worldwide; by interlinking and modernizing the academic curricula and by establishing new partnerships through an Industrial Relations Board; (3) to support the development of common European mechanisms in higher education related to QA, external evaluation and accreditation, and recognition of degrees and credits; by launching a joint external evaluation and accreditation process under the EQAR agreed standards for QA of joint programmes; and (4) to ensure the effective implementation and long-term sustainability of the joint programme; by embedding it into the governance and stakeholder collaboration structures of U!REKA, formalised through a draft partnership agreement. |
