Coaching Reimagined: Revolutionizing Coaching with Digital Tools

This proposal aims to explore a novel learning model within team sports coaching. By leveraging the capabilities of a web application, this initiative seeks to revolutionize sports education, making it more accessible and inclusive for all. Central to this endeavour is adopting a new learning paradigm, empowering athletes to engage in their development actively. Initially, the proposal focused on water polo and expanded to encompass all team sports. The project's primary objective is to create a user-friendly digital platform that enables coaches to efficiently digitize, map, organize, and structure their curriculum in an easily shareable format. It will serve as a comprehensive mapping model, facilitating the seamless integration of coaches' theories in a simple and highly customizable manner. The project commences with digitizing the curriculum of coaches from three European countries, focusing on enhancing coaching effectiveness and athlete learning outcomes. Next, coaches will develop a comprehensive six-week course encompassing various skills, weekly challenges, assessments and questionnaires that will provide further data points for examination at the project's conclusion. The course will be accessible to both club athletes and remote participants. Upon completion, clubs will submit reports detailing project outcomes and recommendations, and the partners will meet in Greece to discuss outcomes and collaborate on future endeavours. All materials will remain freely accessible for five years. IT partners will continuously work on the app throughout the project and gather participant feedback to enhance its functionality and usability. Coaches will actively engage athletes in assessment and feedback to improve the overall learning experience. Anticipated outcomes include enhanced coaching and learning practices, personalized learning experiences, and increased access to sports education for all.
