The Tabuleiros Litorâneos Public Irrigation Project, located in the municipalities of Parnaíba and Buriti Lopes, 350 km from Teresina, in the State of Piauí, was qualified under the PPI Investment Partnership Program, together with 6 other hydroagricultural and irrigation projects, through Resolution No. 216, of December 16, 2021, endorsed by Decree No. 11,041, of April 12, 2022. The project is located on the plateaus on the right bank of the Parnaíba River, with the 1st Stage, with 2,443 irrigable hectares implemented, of which 800 are in operation. Access to the perimeter, from Teresina, is via the BR-343 highway, which crosses the project area in a south-north direction. The project is also served by Parnaíba airport, where regional and national flights operate, and by the Transnordestina Railway. The 2nd Stage of the project, the object of this partnership project, whose infrastructure is partially implemented, has a projected area of 5,740 hectares, resulting in a total area of 8,183 irrigable hectares. The works necessary to complete the infrastructure of this Stage include the Main Pumping Station II, main pipelines I and II, secondary channel CS-2, tertiary channels CT-2.2 and CT-2.4, water intakes, secondary pumping stations, pipes distribution system, drainage network, road system, among others.
