It consists of 176 turbines and is expected to deliver 2.6 gigawatts of power to the grid, enough to supply more than 660,000 homes. The project is expected to create 1,000 jobs and generate about $2 billion in economic activity. Dominion Energy operates the wind farm, which delivered its first power to the grid in March 2026. The project was first announced in 2013 and is staged at the Portsmouth Marine Terminal in Portsmouth, Virginia. |
