COCOA DEALING

This project's proponent has been in the industry since the 1960s and cocoa has been its main source of income. The project owner owns a couple of cocoa plantations and he also sources from the other small growers. He processes the cocoa beans and dry them up and stores them in a storage facility given the limitations in market access he usually sells his products to the nearest cocoa exporting companies. The project owner is very keen to partner with an investor to expand and establish a good production plant by sourcing new and modern equipment/machinery to maintain steady production and supply. The best storage and distribution outlets are also lacking to maintain the quality of products. He also sought other collaborations to partner with investors to establish a good market abroad to sell the finished products. The project owner wants an investor to partner to source new/modern production materials to maintain quality and constant production with international best practices to compete with other exporters in the intended markets. The transfer of technology and technical know-how will also be needed to ensure constant production with quality outputs and favorable returns on investments. Given this scenario, the project proponents wish to partner with a foreigner to build a cocoa downstream processing plan and access good markets abroad. The cocoa production capacity in the province is very high with its viable soil fertility. The project site is located along the main road to Kerevat National High School but it's possible to be relocated to the town or industrial areas. The project owner and investor will partner and based on mutual understanding and agreements they will run the project.
