Codiac Transpo, the public transit authority which services the Greater Moncton area, is in need of a back-up power generator to ensure there are no service disruptions during inclement weather. As a result of recent and more prevalent weather events due to the effects of climate change (increased flooding, ice storms and increased rainfall), back-up power is required to ensure services of the Codiac Bus Service are able to be maintained during such events. This includes ensuring that power to the terminal/premise is maintained, as the space is sometimes utilized for emergency measure support for the City. Generator will be built-infrastructure with permanent wiring and attachment to the facility. The provision of this generator is necessary to address emergency measures requirements and will allow for repair, fuel access and other bus requirements in the event of an emergency.
