The project ‘Cohesion Policy: The Path to Balanced Development of Latvia’ introduces a comprehensive approach to raising awareness and understanding of the EU Cohesion Policy framework and its outcomes among diverse stakeholders and the general public in Latvia. By combining digital and in-person activities, it seeks to engage policymakers, public authorities at all levels, NGOs, educational and scientific institutions, municipal organizations, business representatives, youth, and other social groups. Focusing on the current programming period, the project highlights the significance of key Cohesion Policy Funds in Latvia, including the Cohesion Fund, European Regional Development Fund, European Social Fund Plus, and Just Transition Fund. It also explores the alignment of investments in Latvia with the five priorities of the Cohesion Policy: fostering a competitive and smarter Europe, advancing a greener and more sustainable Europe, improving connectivity, promoting social inclusion, and bringing Europe closer to citizens. Additionally, the project evaluates the effectiveness and sustainability of fund allocations at national, regional, and local levels. The project delivers its messages through content published in Latvian and Russian (languages extensively used in Latvia), encompassing articles, videos, podcasts, and studio discussions shared on prominent platforms such as TVNET.lv, RUS.TVNET.lv, and Apollo.lv. It includes promotional campaigns across news media, social media, and Google platforms, alongside events tailored for business representatives and the public. Gamified engagement activities and interviews with key stakeholders further enrich the initiative’s reach and depth. By leveraging these efforts, the project aims to foster dialogue in between public authorities and general society, complement communication efforts, enhance understanding, and demonstrate the strategic benefits of the Cohesion Policy for Latvia’s balanced and sustainable development.
