Description | The Thaneerpandhal Rail Overbridge (ROB) project in Coimbatore is an important infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity for residents and commuters in adjacent areas including Hopes College Rd., Vilankurichi, Gandhimanagar, Sathy Road, Peelamedu, and IT employees at the TIDEL Park region. The Southern Railways completed the portion above the train track in 2018, but the project was stalled due to land acquisition and legal issues until it resumed in July 2025. Currently, 25% of the project is completed with 13 out of 18 pillars erected, and underground water connections are being shifted to facilitate construction. The project aims to complete an approximately 550 meter ROB by December 2026. |
