Description
Description | "The World Jewish Congress, the representative organization of Jewish communities worldwide, proposes the WJC Collective Impact project for a Framework Partnership for its EU-wide network of national-level Jewish communities in 2026-2028. The project supports the implementation of the EU Strategy on Combating Antisemitism and Fostering Jewish Life and addresses critical challenges faced by Jewish communities by: -Providing tailored support and fostering cross-border cooperation among Jewish communities through capacity-building initiatives like Regional Trainings, the National Community Directors’ Forum (NCDF), and Community Exchanges, strengthening communal responses to antisemitism. -Building capacity for policymakers to address antisemitism through training programs and exchanges of best practices and training, including through the Special Envoys and Coordinators on Combating Antisemitism (SECCA) forum, supporting the design and implementation of national strategies. -Raising awareness about antisemitism and promoting knowledge of Jewish life by leveraging social media and key target groups, such as sports clubs, to reach new and broad audiences, channelling the power of sports to be and agent of positive change. -Emphasizing the importance of Holocaust remembrance as a shared European legacy through the #WeRemember campaign and the illumination of landmarks across the EU. -Building civil society and inter-faith coalitions to amplify collective efforts on combating racism, xenophobia, and all forms of intolerance. -Developing data-based reports into the scale and trends in antisemitic incidents and emerging threats to inform policy development. Through this three-fold approach of building the capacity of (1) Jewish communities, (2) public authorities and (3) coalition-building partners, the project has the potential to provide a strong community-driven response to antisemitism and promote awareness of Jewish life within European society.
