Collector Road Safety Improvements

The first section of work is located at the intersection of Route 6 and Route 238 (Fountain Rd/Campbellton Rd) in New London for a total distance of approx. 550m. The current configuration of the intersection does not provide vehicles with sufficient sight distance in the eastern direction. The scope of work consists of changing the vertical alignment of Route 6 to improve the sight distance for vehicles movements through the intersection. This will be achieved by raising the elevation of the road at the intersection of Route 6 & Route 2387 by approximately 1.0 metre, as well as reducing the elevation of a land on the property located on the southeast quadrant of the intersection. Completing this project will improve the sight distance to 182.0 metres in the surrounding agricultural areas. The goal of this project is to improve the overall safety for all vehicles travelling the roardway.
