Description
Description | The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) and its contractor (Ranger Pipelines) is replacing a portion of an existing large diameter water transmission pipeline (College Hill Pipeline) which runs from the College Hill Reservoir; through SFPUC’s Right of Way and across the unpaved portion of Prospect Avenue to Cortland Avenue. Additional new pipeline connections will also be made on Santa Marina Street from Prospect to Mission Street with an upgrade to the fire hydrant connection on Gladys Street at Santa Marina. The project also includes the installation of new reservoir roof vaults, improved road access (within the reservoir) and electrical upgrades. Coyotes are active in and around College Hill Reservoir. The SFPUC is prohibited from interfering with coyotes and other wildlife and have posted signage along the reservoir fence, requesting that residents do not interact with or feed the coyotes. For more information about San Francisco's coyote policies, please check the SF Animal Care and Control website.CONSTRUCTION LOOK-AHEADAs of April 9, 2024: Current work on this project is taking place within the Reservoir grounds and on the right-of-way leading to Santa Marina Street. This includes demolition and replacement of the reservoir roof and construction of a vault to house valves for seismically resistant water mains.Drivers should exercise caution as construction vehicles will utilize entrances on both on Appleton Avenue and Elsie Street during working hours.
